Abstract

Remotely sensed image raw data by a satellite or an aircraft must be adjusted. The curvature of the Earth, as well as the sensor used, distorts even images of relatively flat places. As a result, geometrically correcting an image is necessary so that it can be represented on a planar surface, confirm to other images, and have the integrity of a map. A map projection system is any system supposed to represent the surface of a sphere or spheroid, such as the Earth, on a plane. For this work data from satellite image (IRS – P6) by LISS-III sensor of 23.5m resolution. This image represents Ramtek city of Nagpur district (Maharashtra state of India). This raw FCC image is preprocessed, which contains importing, sub setting, and georeferencing, as well as extracting useful information via supervised classification and concluding with an accuracy analysis. The investigation reveals that the satellite only senses the spectral signature.
