Abstract

Gender language is the realization of the profound and complicated consciousness about gender, which is embedded in and hidden behind a language [1]. The study of gender language concerns how people of different genders use language, from the aspects of phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax and speech acts, etc. The thesis discusses international and domestic gender language theories as well as specific gender language differences and convergences in English and Mandarin.
