Abstract

Interaction between ceftriaxone used in the most commonly antibiotics combination in Staphylococcal scalded skin (SSS) infections and phenylalanine that is one of carrier-mediated transport system in the blood-brain barrier. It was investigated whether interaction between phenyl alanine and ceftriaxone occur and this study was performed by using semi-empirical- Parameterization Method 6 (PM6). Quantum chemical calculations were used to analyze the formation of a peptide bond between phenylalanine and Ceftriaxone molecules. Both concerted and a stepwise and mechanism were considered. The energetic requirements for the stepwise and concerted were determined.
