Abstract

The freshwater lamellibranch molluscs, Lamellidens corrianus (Lea) and L. marginalis (Lamark) from Godavari river at Paithan (Maharashtra State, India) were exposed for 96 h to respective

LC. and LC50 values (reported by Mane & Muley, 1984) of commercial grade endosulfan 35 EC in summer (May), monsoon (August) and winter (January). The histopathological observations showed that endosulfan cause severe damage to the hepatopancreas of both the species, particu

larly during winter. Effect of pesticide was more pronounced in LC5o group than LC and L. marginalis was severely affected than L. corrianus in all the seasons.
