Abstract

The feeding intensity of four spiders viz. Hippasa haiyanensis, Pardosa tikaderi, Lycosa bistriata and Cheiracanthium punjabensis was investigated under laboratory conditions on the insect pests of pigeonpea and it was found that all the four spiderspecies feedvoraciously on thrips and jassids, moderately onClavigrala sp. and larvae of Melanagromyza obtusa. None of the spider species consumed the larvae of Helicoverpa arma gera.
