Background: For many years, plant-derived agents are used in many medical areas. Tubeimoside-1 (TBMS1) is a triterpenoid saponin first isolated in China from Bolbostemma paniculatum (Maxim) Franquet, Cucurbitaceae.
Objectives: This chapter gives a thorough overview of TBMS1 and discusses its pharmacological activities in great detail.
Methodology: Peer-reviewed scientific articles were analyzed in this study.
Results: TBMS1 has generated a lot of interest in the medical community due to its wide range of pharmacological activities, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antidiabetic, anti-human immunodeficiency virus, and neuroprotective effects.
Conclusion: In this study, TBMS1 displays several pharmacological effects through various mechanisms with a special emphasis on its medical application against diverse diseases. Despite having significant functionalities, more research is needed to expand the range of its applications.
